Manual Test Analyst – AI Programme – Glasgow Hybrid (2 days per week)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Test Analyst to support the Senior Test Analyst in ensuring the quality, reliability, and functionality of software applications within a dynamic AI Programme. In this role, you will help minimise application defects by performing comprehensive testing activities, contributing to the successful delivery of high-quality IT and AI-enabled systems. The role also requires a commitment to best practices, continuous improvement, and professional collaboration to meet client expectations.

You will be involved in various aspects of the testing lifecycle, including test planning, execution, and sign-off, with a particular focus on User Acceptance Testing (UAT), system testing, and AI-related application validation. This position provides an opportunity to work across both Waterfall and Agile methodologies while gaining hands-on experience in a fast-evolving, high-impact AI environment.

Key Responsibilities

Test Planning & Execution

• Schedule and coordinate testing activities, ensuring adequate business representation in UAT and other testing phases.
• Fully participate in the testing lifecycle, including test planning, preparation, execution, and sign-off.
• Manage test environments and prepare data as required for testing purposes.
• Support testing activities related to AI-driven applications, workflows, and integrations.

Quality Assurance & Documentation

• Ensure 100% compliance with audited testing procedures.
• Maintain and manage all testing documentation, including Test Specifications, Test Completion Reports, Risk/Issues Logs, Testing Checklists, and Release Meeting Minutes.
• Document and report all issues identified during testing, raising observation reports and collaborating with relevant parties to ensure timely resolution.
• Assist in validating AI outputs, data accuracy, and system behaviour against business requirements.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

• Participate in and, when required, chair Release meetings with all relevant stakeholders to ensure proper alignment on testing progress and findings.
• Provide testing expertise in development workshops, sharing knowledge and best practices with the team.
• Work collaboratively with business users, developers, data teams, and AI programme stakeholders.
• Assist in post-implementation checks to ensure the successful deployment of applications.

Testing Analysis & Reporting

• Analyse Business Requirements and Functional Specifications for smaller-scale changes or developments and recommend the most effective testing methods within the given budget and timeline.
• Evaluate test results and record test specifications as needed to ensure comprehensive test coverage.
• Expedite defect resolution to ensure timely delivery of software releases.
• Contribute to testing strategies for AI-related functionality, including data validation and workflow accuracy.

Agile Testing & Tools

• Apply Agile testing methods and contribute to Agile ceremonies and processes, leveraging tools such as Jira and Confluence.
• Utilise automated testing tools, such as Selenium and Appium, to enhance testing efficiency and accuracy.
• Collaborate within Agile product and AI delivery teams in a fast-paced environment.

System Knowledge & Technical Skills

Testing Tools & Platforms

• HP Quality Centre (HP ALM), Jira, Confluence
• Experience or exposure to automated testing tools such as Selenium and Appium
• XML, API testing, Postman
• Oracle/SQL Server or SAP advantageous
• Exposure to AI tools, AI-assisted testing approaches, or data-driven systems would be beneficial

Key Skills & Experience

• Minimum of 2 years’ hands-on experience with testing methods and tools, including Agile frameworks, Jira, and Confluence.
• Strong understanding of manual testing procedures and QA methodologies.
• Any knowledge of automated testing tools (e.g. Selenium, Appium).
• Interest in AI technologies, AI-enabled platforms, or intelligent automation solutions is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with AI concepts, prompt-based systems, data validation, or AI-assisted workflows would be advantageous.
• Strong understanding of quality assurance processes and the ability to maintain detailed documentation.
• Ability to work collaboratively with both technical teams and business stakeholders to ensure smooth testing operations.
• Good communication skills, with the ability to articulate test results and findings to diverse audiences.
